Biography

Steph Fonteyn is a self-taught visual artist, award-winning public speaker, and expert in facilitating creative team-building experiences. Born in the UK, she has lived in Spain, Miami, and Switzerland, where she currently resides.

From a young age, Steph's artistic talent was evident. She honed her skills through extensive practice and experimentation, developing a unique style that captures the spirit of popular culture through cityscapes, icons, and portraits. Her works feature vibrant colors, free-flowing rhythms, and crisscrossing brushwork and have been exhibited in galleries across Europe and North America, with over 300 art collectors worldwide.

Steph Fonteyn

Steph's art is a creative journey where she explores her inner emotional world and the exterior world while connecting with people. This connection can make people feel good, help them push boundaries, or provoke thought. But above all, Steph hopes her art inspires people to take their leap of faith and follow their dreams.

Steph's talent and dedication to her craft have earned her widespread recognition. Her paintings were exhibited at Switzerland's DuPont International in 2005, and Metris Gallery and En Beauregard Gallery featured her "Jazz Colors" series of paintings during the 2010 and 2011 Montreux Jazz Festival. Using lively colors, her evocative acrylics depict iconic singers and musicians, such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Miles Davis. The series' success led to further exhibitions of Steph's work throughout Switzerland, appearances on Swiss radio and TV, and features in magazines and journals. Most notably, she was invited to share her love of art on World Radio Switzerland as a resident art journalist.

In 2012-13, Steph was inspired by Seth Godin's "Purple Cow" to do something remarkable. She decided to explore her relationship with social media and art's unifying abilities. "The 100 Faces Project" was born, producing 100 commissioned portraits. The Cité du Temps in Geneva displayed the series of 100 acrylic portraits as an interactive mosaic. Since completing the project, other galleries in Switzerland and France, Belgium, Miami, and New York have featured Steph's other paintings in solo and group exhibits.

Beyond her artistic achievements, Steph has established herself as an accomplished public speaker, winning first place in Toastmasters Public Speaking in Swiss Romande in 2021 and second place in Central & Southern Europe in the same year with her speech entitled "Creativity & Co." She also won second place in Swiss Romande in 2022 with "The conversation that changed my life." Steph has shared her expertise on creativity and communication at various events, including TEDxZurichWomen in 2015 and at Webster University, Procter & Gamble, and The Aspen Institute in Aspen, Colorado.

Steph's team-building services, called Collaborative Art®, were founded in 2011 to unite teams around a shared vision through art. Drawing on her experience in HR and communication, Steph has developed innovative techniques to unlock the creative potential of teams, helping them achieve greater success.

With her unique combination of artistic talent, public speaking expertise, and team-building skills, Steph has become a respected figure in art, communication, and leadership. Her passion for creativity and ability to connect with audiences and teams have inspired countless individuals and organizations to reach their full potential.
